Watch Dogs: Legion Leaked By Amazon, Can Play As Any NPC
It wouldn’t be another week without another Watch Dogs 3 related leak, however this time, it appears the title won’t actually be called Watch Dogs 3 but instead Watch Dogs: Legion, according to a new listing over on Amazon UK.
The Amazon UK listing reconfirms previous leaks that Watch Dogs: Legion will take place in a near-future dystopian London setting, but makes mention that it’s “a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes.”
Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It's a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce levels in the world making this the perfect playground.
What’s even more interesting is the Amazon listing mentions that players will be able to play as ANY NPC they encounter in the open world. Each NPC will feature their own individual set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals which have been generated and guided by gameplay systems.
Its worth taking this news with a grain of salt, especially with the amount of grammatical inconsistencies in the Amazon product description, however Kotaku editor Jason Schreier confirmed that he’s heard about the setting and this feature, stating that “this system is so ambitious that it’s been causing the developers a lot of headaches (and may have led to at least one delay).”
VG247 also reports that the creative director for Watch Dogs Legion by Clint Hocking, the director behind Far Cry 2. No news on whether Jonathan Morin, the creative director behind Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2, is involved with Watch Dogs Legion.
This sounds extremely ambitious to say the least, but something I’m VERY interested in seeing in action which will no doubt be revealed during Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference next week. This listing also seems to give credibility to a leak we reported on back in May, detailing the protagonist, story and new gameplay mechanics which you can read about here.
