Need for Speed Unbound Reveals Extensive Look at New Customization

The latest Need for Speed Unbound content drop is here, this week focusing on the customization, one of the stable features at the core of Need for Speed, and how its improved and evolved with several new additions in Unbound.

Posting over on the Need for Speed website, EA have detailed that Unbound features more than 10,000 customization options for your vehicles, including new wraps, ‘cutaways’, rims, and more.

In addition to Tags, the cartoon-esque visual effects which were detailed in the last content drop, Unbound will also feature ‘Samples’ as a new form of customization. While its yet unknown how these Samples work, they’re described as excessive audio sounds which most likely play once a Tag has been activated.

A new addition to Need for Speed Unbound is Legendary Customs, a new one-of-a-kind customization option showcasing silhouette changing parts that completely transform a cars appearance, much akin to the Khyzyl Saleem kits that featured in Need for Speed Heat.

Some of these Legendary Customs have been revealed already, with some appearing as rewards for completing the weekly Qualifiers including the Land Rover Defender, BMW M1 and Nissan GT-R.

Unbound adds several new rim styles to customization, with with fresh designs and new variations to turbofans introduced in NFS Heat bringing more personality to your wheels than ever before, including unique pizza wheels, spiral loops and panda bear rims.

The wrap editor features all-new wrap editor decals featuring content from leading fashion innovators, the best in car culture, new fonts, the freshest street art, and more!

One of the most exciting new additions is cutaways, also known as part removals, which will allow you to delete bumpers and potentially other areas of your car to reveal their inner skeleton frames. Most notable, it seems you can even apply decals on to these cutaway areas.

Need for Speed Unbound launches on December 2nd, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, or three days earlier on November 29th for the Palace Edition purchasers and EA Play subscribers.
