Forza Horizon 4's Route Creator Will Not Be Available At Launch
Several weeks back we reported how based on findings in one of Forza Horizon 4’s weekly season livestreams, the hotly-anticipated route creator feature may not be ready at launch, and today we have official confirmation that the feature will be absent at launch.
Forza Horizon 4 previews leading up to launch have been dropping by various content creators throughout the day, with website GTPlanet confirming the delay after speaking with Playground Games’ creative director Ralph Fulton about the feature.
Fulton told GTPlanet that the Route Creator feature will not make it in time for launch however will be added into the game “in a matter of weeks after launch” and players won’t be waiting long to try out the feature.
He further detailed the Route Creator feature, stating how it gives players “pretty much complete freedom to go create point-to-point and circuit routes, anywhere in the world”. Route Creator will not limit players to racing on-road and allows you to place checkpoints anywhere across the map.
Fulton explained to GTPlanet that with a tool like Route Creator, there’s plenty of bugs the studio needs to iron out before the feature can be added and the team didn’t want to ship a feature that’s incomplete, hence why it will be added in as one of Forza Horizon 4’s first content updates post-launch.
This isn’t the first time major features have been absent at launch, with features such as the Auction House, Leagues and Specialty Dealer added post-launch with Forza Motorsport 7.
Forza Horizon 4 releases on Xbox One and Windows 10 on October 2nd 2018, or September 28th 2018 for Ultimate Edition purchasers, and will be available free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch.
