EA Hints Need for Speed 2022 News Could Be Coming Soon
The wait for a Need for Speed 2022 reveal may soon be finally over, if a comment made by the official EA Instagram account is to be believed.
Replying to a comment on a recent EA Instagram post, in which a user asks for news on Need for Speed 2022, EA responded to ‘keep those eyes peeled’ - potentially suggesting a reveal of the next Need for Speed title could be right around the corner.

When EA plans to formally reveal Need for Speed 2022 is anybody’s guess. EA announced earlier this year that they won’t be holding an EA Play conference this year, and with the recent PlayStation State of Play, Summer Game Fest and Xbox & Bethesda Games showcases having been and gone, all signs seem to indicate a Gamescom 2022 reveal.
However, EA have gone on record to state they will be revealing more about its projects "when the time is right for each of them” throughout the year, with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being recently revealed during Star Wars Celebration earlier this month, and announcing the Dead Space Remake release date earlier in May.
EA and Codemasters will also be releasing F1 22 later this month, which with that title out of the limelight could pave way for EA and Criterion to reveal Need for Speed 2022 during July, or at Gamescom in August - much like Need for Speed Heat which also saw its reveal in August 2019 before Gamescom.
The next Need for Speed title, currently in development by Criterion Games in addition with recently-revealed Codemasters Cheshire, has been confirmed to be launching later this year. Recent leaks and rumours have suggested Need for Speed 2022 will be coming to next gen platforms only, and will be set in a fictionalized Chicago with a photorealistic art style with ‘anime elements’.
