The Crew 2 and Far Cry 5 Have Been Delayed
Two of Ubisoft's biggest titles launching in the first quarter of 2018 have now both been delayed.
Over on the UbiBlog, the company announced that Far Cry 5 has now been delayed from February 27th to March 27th - one month from it's initial release date - while The Crew 2 has been delayed from March 16th to somewhere in "in the first half of our next fiscal year".
However, clarification on when The Crew 2 may launch was provided by the dev team over on their own official website.
In order to truly stand by our promise, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release date to between April/September 2018. While we’re excited to share the joys of Motornation with you as soon as possible, we don’t want to do so before the game is ready. This new window will allow us to deliver an experience that fulfils both our fans’ and our own quality expectations.
I'm super excited to get my hands on both games, so it sucks to hear them get delayed. While Far Cry 5's is only by a month, a possible wait of up to six months is quite a big delay for fans looking forward to The Crew 2. However, we're certain that The Crew 2 is going to deliver one of the most ambitious and exciting racing experiences this console generation, so if that means waiting a few extra months to ensure it lives up to what the team want to deliver, then I'm all for it.
