Spider-Man PS4 Release Date Revealed, Photo Mode and Collector's Editions Announced
Following the announcement that a full month of coverage for the upcoming web-slinging adventure game on GameInformer, Insomniac Games have officially revealed the title's release date.
Announced over on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac's Community Director James Stevenson revealed that the hotly-anticipated Spider-Man will be launching on September 7th, 2018. The final box art for Spider-Man was also revealed, sporting a pure red background with a more experienced Spidey web-slinging in his new Advanced Suit. In addition, two new versions of Marvel's Spider-Man have been announced: Digital Deluxe Edition and Collector's Edition.
Firstly, the Digital Deluxe Edition will include the game, several in-game digital items, as well as new story chapters as a part of Insomniac's post-launch DLC series – Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps. This DLC features three new chapters each with new missions, new villains and characters, and additional suits for Spider-Man, more details on this will be announced later. For those in America and Canada, purchasers of the Digital Deluxe version will also receive a limited edition collectors pin via the main featuring Spider-Man in his box art pose.
The Collector's Edition contains all the same digital content as that of the Digital Deluxe, a steelbook case featuring the iconic white spider, a mini Spider-Man artbook from Titan Books, and an awesome Marvel’s Spider-Man statue by Gentle Giant. Insomniac have chosen not to reveal the full statue just yet, as Spider-Man is perched on something too spoilery for the studio to reveal just yet.
Finally, GameInformer revealed that Marvel's Spider-Man will indeed feature a photo mode, meaning you'll finally be able to get J. Jonah Jameson those pictures of New York's favourite web-slinger he so desperately demands for The Daily Bugle.
