A set of new Forza Horizon branded Hot Wheels diecasts have leaked online, which could be potentially teasing the release of Forza Horizon 5 later this year and its rumoured Mexico setting.

Posted by T-Hunted Blog over on Instagram were a new set of Forza Hot Wheels series cars which are expected to launch this September, with the ones included showcasing a ‘19 Mercedes Benz A-Class, Corvette C7.R and Porsche 911 GT3 RS - all donning a black and pink Horizon livery colour scheme.

While Hot Wheels have released various Forza series die casts in the past, a lot of the packaging art has related to the most recent game - whether that be Forza Motorsport 6, Forza Motorsport 7 or Forza Horizon 4. - what makes this series in particular so interesting however, is not only the packaging art choice but also their scheduled release date.

The packaging art for this showcases the cars sitting in what appears to be a sandy desert, somewhat similar to the Dubai Circuit of the Emirates track from Forza Motorsport 7, however is prominently promoted as Forza Horizon. In addition, this series specifically is set to launch in September - the common release date for Horizon games in the past.

Recent rumours have suggested Forza Horizon 5 will launch this year and be set in Mexico, a locale notoriously known for deserts. The very first Xbox Series X trailer from 2019 also teased a Forza title showcasing a Regera driving through rocky desert terrain, which recently many are looking to as a discreet tease from Xbox of a Mexico setting.

Back in February, a new Hot Wheels themed expansion came to Forza Horizon 4 suggesting that a Forza/Xbox + Hot Wheels partnership is still prominent between the companies and will no doubt continue with Forza Horizon 5 and Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport title in development.
