Gran Turismo Reveals Two New Vision GT Cars, Coming to GT Sport Next Year
During the FIA Gran Turismo Championships World Final in Monaco over the weekend, Polyphony Digital revealed two brand-new Vision GT cars, which will eventually be making their way into Gran Turismo Sport sometime next year.
The first is a new partnership with Mazda to create the the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 and is based off their original RX-Vision. The RX-Vision GT3 will be able to used by GT Sport players at some point next year in the 2020 FIA-Certified Online Championships.
Polyphony Digital are currently in development of modeling the RX-Vision GT3, as confirmed by Kazunori Yamauchi, however has stated that both he and Mazda are unsure if the new RX-Vision GT3 will be sporting a rotary engine or not.
The second is an entirely new partnership, with Lamborghini being the latest to partner into the Vision Gran Turismo program to create their own Vision GT vehicle - The Lambo V12 Vision GT.
Inspired by the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 production concept, this concept sports a similar a V12 Lamborghini engine (as per names sake) found in the Aventador SVJ and is capable for producing up to 807hp, with 34 of that horsepower being produced by a super capacitor.
These two new vehicles will be coming to Gran Turismo Sport in 2020, with the Lambo V12 scheduled to debut in the game during Spring 2020, and the RX-Vision GT3 currently unknown.
This confirms GT Sport support will still continue strong into the next year, as we reported on more Porsche models and these two previously unknown Vision GT cars several weeks back.
With PlayStation 5 slated to launch in Holiday 2020, it’ll be interesting to see how Polyphony plans to support Gran Turismo Sport into the next generation.
