Forza Horizon 4 Update 8 Adds New Free Cars, Drift Adventure and More
Playground Games have revealed their next live-service content update for Forza Horizon 4, launching later this week with tons of free new vehicles, a new online adventure mode and much more.
One of the headlining additions with Update 8 is a brand new Barrett-Jackson Car Pack, which adds seven new vehicles to the game. The Barrett-Jackson Car Pack, which originally debuted in Forza Motorsport 7 earlier this year, will be free to owners of the Car Pass or standalone costing $7.
These aren’t the only new cars being introduced with Update 8, with a set of exclusive new vehicles being added to the Festival Playlist each season for players to work towards.
Starting this week during the Summer Season, players can unlock the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT-4 at 50% Completion, the Hot Wheels Twin Mill 50th Anniversary Edition at 80% Completion, and the Mercedes Benz X-Class during the Seasonal Championship.
Autumn will be adding the Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione at 50% Completion and the Mercedes-Benz 280SL at 80% Completion. Moving to Winter, the 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle and Lykan Hypersport will be offered with the Terradyne Ghurka during the Seasonal Championship. Finally, the iconic Vauxhall Corsa and an exclusive Easter-themed Rabbit Outfit will be available during Spring.
The all-new and highly-requested Drift Adventure mode, a new type of Online Adventure, is also being introduced with Update 8. Players will have seven minutes to drift around an asphalt circuit accumulating Drift Score with the objective to set their best lap around the circuit with the most score earned.
The Drift Cockpit Camera is also being introduced to Forza Horizon 4 with this update, which was first added last month to Forza Motorsport 7 in their March Update, making this update all the more sweeter for Drifting enthusiasts.
Finally, Playground Games have added a few new features to cars and the Livery Editor, with wheel-space options (Spacers) now being added to over 100 new vehicles in the game.
Layer Masks are also being introduced to the Livery Editor, allowing players to create their own “cookie cutter shapes”. This allows players to change the body paint underneath a mask shape and have it come through all the layers stamped on the vehicle.
