Forza Horizon 2 Will Be Removed From Xbox Store Next Month
Playground Games have revealed Forza Horizon 2 will be getting delisted from the Xbox Store in September, meaning the game and all of its DLC will no longer be purchasable from the Xbox Store.
Announced over the Forza Motorsport website in this weeks Forza Week in Review blogpost, Forza Horizon 2 will be delisted and no longer purchasable from the Xbox Store from September 30th.
The reason behind this is due to Forza Horizon 2 reaching "end of life" status, where the developers are no longer supporting the title once the vehicle and music licenses expiring are not allowed to sell copies once they have.
If you already own Forza Horizon 2 digitally, you will still be able download and play the game along with all DLC content you purchased before September 30th.
If you do not currently own Forza Horizon 2 or an Xbox One (like myself) but intend to in the future, Forza Horizon 2 is currently free as a part of Xbox Live's August Games With Gold lineup, and is the perfect opportunity to get a Xbox Live Gold trial so it can remain in your library.
This isn't the first time a Forza title has been delisted from the Xbox Store. Back in October 2017, Forza Motorsport 5 was delisted for the same reason after being offered as a Games With Gold title in September 2017. We can only assume that this trend will continue with Forza Motorsport 6 next year, and Forza Horizon 3 in 2020.
