Codemasters Are Teasing A New DiRT Game, Reveal "Very Soon"
A new DiRT game is coming, with Codemasters teasing a a reveal “very soon”.
Over on the official DiRT Twitter account, the account tweeted out an image showcasing a very different and almost DiRT 3 style graphic, accompanied by a blog post about the future of DiRT Rally 2.0 and the next entry in the franchise.
“Prepare to see something new roar to life in the world of DiRT, very soon. Developed by a separate Codemasters studio to the DiRT Rally team, we’re incredibly excited about what’s around the corner. We invite you to be part of a brand new experience, while also continuing to enjoy our definitive Rally offering.”
While details have yet to be shared on this “brand new DiRT experience”, it seems likely this could be DiRT 5, with the series potentially going back to the DiRT 3/Showdown style based on the logo design.
With support winding down for DiRT Rally 2.0, the blog post also teases the next DiRT Rally game however don’t expect a DiRT Rally 3.0 any time soon.
“As for the future of DiRT Rally? Well… we have a few things in mind. We have big plans, driven by a passionate development team, solely tasked with taking the Rally series to even greater heights. You won’t hear about that for a while, but when you do... oh boy, will you be excited for what’s coming.“
With PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X expected to launch later this year, its possible this could end up being a launch title — something I predicted earlier this year — if this next entry into the DiRT series launches this year.
