Borderlands 3 Releases This September, New Characters and Collectors Editions Revealed

After the official announcement of Borderlands 3 at PAX East 2019 last week, Gearbox have officially revealed the games release date alongside the cover art, the new Vault Hunters and three special editions of the highly-anticipated looter-shooter.

Borderlands 3 will officially launch on September 13th 2019, a release date thats been widely leaked over the last few days, with Gearbox’s official Twitter tweeting and swiftly deleting the tweet alongside various YouTube and Twitter ads going live early. The new trailer also confirms the PC version will be an Epic Games Store exclusive until April 2020.

On September 13th, you’ll have four versions of Borderlands 3 to choose from: Standard, Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition and Diamond Loot Chest Collector's Edition.

The Standard Edition includes the base game, the Deluxe Edition includes 3 cosmetic packs and a Toy Weapon pack, while the Super Deluxe includes all previous content, Four campaign DLC packs featuring new stories, missions and challenges as well as a Butt Stallion weapon skin, weapon trinket, and grenade mod.

The Diamond Loot Chest contains a literal haul of goodies, such as a steelbook, 10 character figurines, cloth map, season pass and a butt (stallion) load more, the ultimate version for any Borderlands fan! This edition will cost just as much as diamonds, running you back a whopping $250 USD.

The four main Vault Hunters classes have also been revealed: Moze, FL4K, Amara and Zane. The official descriptions of each of the four vault hunters are as follows;

  • Moze as THE GUNNER: When Moze needs backup, she digistructs her mech - Iron Bear - for a sucker punch of additional firepower.

  • Amara as THE SIREN: A confident, capable brawler with the ability to summon ethereal fists, Amara used her Siren powers to smash her enemies.

  • FL4K as THE BEASTMASTER: FL4K lives for the hunt. So do the loyal beasts that follow their master's every command. Their preferred prey? Unsuspecting bandits, those poor suckers.

  • Zane as THE OPERATIVE: Specializing in battlefield gadgetry, Zane is extremely proficient at slipping into combat, creating chaos, and sneaking back out as if he were never there.


Gearbox will be hosting an hosting a Worldwide Gameplay Reveal Event livestream on May 1st that will allow fans around the world to see Borderlands 3 in action for the first time.
