Limited Edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4 Bundle Announced for Europe
Yesterday, PlayStation UK and EU took to Twitter to tease the reveal of "something new", with a short video of lights shinning on what appeared to be a box underneath a bright red cloth. Today, Kazunori Yamauchi (President, Polyphony Digital) revealed on the PlayStation Blog that it was in fact, a limited edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4.
Today I’m thrilled to announce that a limited edition Gran Turismo Sport PlayStation 4 console will release across UK, Europe and Australasia from 18th October* to coincide with the release of the latest entry in Polyphony Digital’s celebrated racing series.
The console is a Jet Black 1TB PlayStation 4 Slim model, featuring a sliver face plate emblazoned with the iconic Gran Turismo logo and a fully-customized sliver DUALSHOCK 4 controller including the logo on the touchpad. The controller will also be sold separately at certain retailers.
In addition, the console includes the Day 1 Edition of Gran Turismo Sport which grants players $250,000 in-game credits, livery sticker packs, a chrome racing helmet and 60 PS4 avatars.
Disappointingly, this custom PS4 will not be available as a PS4 Pro Bundle. Instead, there will be four additional bundles which will include the standard edition of the game:
- Jet Black PS4 1 TB edition
- Jet Black PS4 500GB edition
- Jet Black PS4 1TB + extra Jet Black DUALSHOCK 4 edition
- Jet Black PS4 Pro edition
This is a very nice looking PS4, it's just unfortunate Sony did not try push for a limited edition PS4 Pro version also - something that might have been much more appealing to Gran Turismo fans looking at picking up a PS4.
