Since Build of the Week began, this is the first new car to be revealed for the game via the weekly social media series. Down Below you can find images of an Evolution IX specifically modified for the Race class - one of five car classes you will be able to turn your cars into in Payback - as well as this builds current modifications and its performance stats. Additionally, if you want your own custom viewing angle on the Evo XI, the Build of the Week post over on EA's website have now been updated to include a neat new 360° view around the car.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX has been a staple car for gearheads for the last ten years, we’ve built this one with that in mind. We’ve added some choice Voltex parts to the car with a vented hood and wider rear fenders and given it a lowered stance. A carbon diffuser, side skirts and splitter make it feel ready to race. De-spoilering the car gives us a nice contrast against the bright obnoxious paint and wrap and we decided to go old school with the rim choice this time by fitting a set of custom painted Work VS-XXs with plenty of dish.

Gamescom is right around the corner, so expect tons of new Need for Speed Payback news to drop throughout next week, including our first look at the cops and race gameplay. Are you happy to see the Evolution XI make its way into Need for Speed Payback, and what car are you hoping to see revealed on the next Build of the Week?
